A Gratitude Worker

Three years ago, when I was still fully involved with Majalis Dzikir Baitul Akbar, I accompanied Aa' Hadi to the event that was a part of his Islamic Syi'ar or Da'wah in a franchise company at Menteng area. Aa' Hadi as the leader of Baitul Akbar was invited by the directors of that company to gave a spiritual guidance for their staff in order to maximize they efforts in the company. If the working atmosphere is well-maintained, and in return the company will get more benefits.

Aa' Hadi is our mursyid (teacher) until now, even though my wife and I currently actives in Baitul-Ikhlas (since Sept. 2005) but our relationships with Aa' Hadi always establish, at least every Thursday night we are see each other at his house for dzikir together. At that time (2004), Aa' Hadi still a single guy and he got married in April 2005.

The event started after Dzuhur prayer at the basement, and when we arrived, it was already full with the employees of that company that waited since 11:30 AM. Most of Baitul Akbar members also came to the place, so they can learned the lesson from Aa' Hadi as well.

After finished with Tilawatil Qur'an, Aa' Hadi opened the speeches by talked about respecting the superior or the boss in and out the company. Never say something bad or making trashy words behind his/her back, especially anything that will leads to hatred towards the superior or the boss. Because when we disrespected the boss just for some unimportant matters (not against our belief and religion) and we starts gossiping him/her in the office or in our community, straight from that moment Allah will take back all of our good-deeds and put us together with the ingratitude (Kufur) people. The contrary; if we enjoy and relax when performed our tasks and duties, just do the best as much as we could to the company and leave the rest to Allah Subhaanahu wa Ta'aala, that it is one of the characteristic for showing the feeling of thankfulness and appreciation to The Almighty, Allah 'Azza wa Jalla.

Allah Subhaanahu wa Ta'aala saying in Al Qur'an, verse 7 of Ibraahiim (14): "Wa idz ta-adzdzaana Rabbukum la in syakartum la aziidannakum wa la in kafartum inna 'adzaabii la syadiid". It is translated as: And remember! Your God caused to be declared (publicity): "If you are grateful, I (Allah) will add more (favours) unto you; but if you show ingratitude, truly my punishment is terrible indeed".

It is also applied to the superiors, they have to taking care their people and try to provide what they needs in order to make them happy working in the company. So it is fair for both parties, win-win solutions.
