Walimatul Hamli

In Islam, for a married Muslim woman that pregnant and it has reached 4 months of pregnancy, based on sunnah of Rasulullah Shallallahu 'Alaihi wa Sallam, usually it is become a tradition for those who can affords to celebrate that event by having an Islamic ceremony. It's call Walimatul Hamli or be grateful for Allah's blessing to the pregnancy. It doesn't have to be a luxurious ceremony, but mostly it is filled with a religious speech (tausiah) that related with the current event, and follows by dzikrullah like saying Subbhaanallah (tasbih), Alhamdulillah (tahmid), Laa ilaahailallah (tahlil) and Allahu Akbar (takbir), then say prayers to Allah Rabbul'alamin as a gratefulness for Allah's Mercy and Compassionate. After finished with dzikr and prayers, the foods will be served and the activity is back to informal gathering.

Further more, because of Allah wished, we were able to manage the Walimatul Hamli at my mother house in the Saturday afternoon at March 17. The person that we invited were not many, approximately 30 guests including our families, with our lovable Sheikh, Aa' Reza led the dzikr, the prayed and gave us a very good short advised regarding how to thankful Allah for everything that Allah has entrusted to us in this life. As the shahibul hajat or host of the event, and on behalf of our families, i opened the ceremony by speech little bit about one hadits from Rasulullah Shallallaahu 'Alaihi wa Sallam.

It was the hadits from Abu Hurairah Radhiyallahu Anhu, and Imam Al-Bukhari narrated in his famous book, Shahih Bukhari. The hadits mentioned about the process of life when Allah created a human from a sperm (Nuthfah), and the sperm after 40 days in the mother's womb will be changed into a blood clot (('Alaqah) by Allah Ta'aala, then 40 days later, Allah changed again into a flesh or a human body (Mudhgah) for 40 days, after that Allah breathed a soul into the human body. But before Allah breathed the soul, Allah gathering all of the souls and proclaimed to them, "...a lastu bi rabbikum...", Am I not your God? And all of the souls saying, "balaa syahidnaa", we admitted and we confessed that Allah is our God. Allah Ta'aala described the process in Al-Qur'an, and it is written in Al-Mu'minuun (23) verse 12 to 14, and in Al 'Araaf (7) verse 172. And as soon as Allah breathed the soul into the human body, Allah also give orders to the angels to write down the human destiny (takdir), the death, the wealth and the deeds.

After the speeches, the dzikr and the prayered, it was followed by knocked out the buffet. But before the buffet, we also had an announcement to everyone that March 17 was also the birthday of our friends, Guna Malik. Because of that, Aa' Reza asked everybody to said the prayer of Al-Fatihah together, and eat afterward. That's the story of our Walimatul Hamli for the day.
