One Minute Only

What we can do within one minute in our short life? I do believe that the variety of answers will be popped out, such as in a soccer game with one minute left before the end of the match, some players still can manage to scored. Or like in the NBA game, it's not a matter of minute anymore but seconds. Remember in the NBA Finals of 1993 when Chicago Bulls met the Phoenix Suns, John Paxson shot the ball into the basket with 3.9 second left on the time board, and the Bulls made the three-peats. And how many lives can be saved if the anti-bomb squad succeed to disarming the bomb within less than a minute remain. Lots of incident could be happened within one minute in our life.

It is also apply to our relationships with Allah Subhaanahu wa Ta'aala, because everything we do is to get the blessing from Allah. If we can fulfill every single time in our life by doing what Allah commanding us and never betray what Allah saying in Al Qur'an, also just follow the hadits and sunnah from our noble prophet Rasulullah Muhammad Shallallahu 'Alaihi wa Sallam, it is equal with placing our seat in heaven.

We never know what will going to happen within one minute from now, but Allah knows. If Allah granted permission to us for knowing our ends or death, and Allah Taabaraka wa Ta'aala only give us one minute to do anything before our souls come out from our bodies , what we would do? Because after the soul is taken, it means there is no way that we can return to the world anymore.

In Al Qur'an, Allah Subhaanahu wa Ta'aala saying in Al-Mu'minuun (23) verse 99 and 100: "Hattaa idzaa jaa-a ahadahumul mautu qaala rabbir ji'uun. La'allii a'malu shaalihan fii maa taraktu kallaa innahaa kalimatun huwa qaa-iluhaa wa miw waraa-ihim barzakhun ilaa yaumi yub'atsuun". Translated as: (In Falsehood will the be) until, when death comes to one of them, he says: "O my Lord! Send me back (to life), - in order that I may work righteouness in the things I neglected!" - "By no means! It is but a word he says". - Before them is a Partition till the Day they are raised up.

Perhaps if we look to that verse of Al Qur'an, after we reach the point of death then our requests will mean nothing and Allah 'Azza wa Jalla just treated our demands merely as an empty word of excuse. Why? Because we had plenty of chances in this life but we just wasted. And it will too late then when we ask for another chance, the time for repentance will then have passed.

In that verse, it's also mentioned about The Partition and that what we called Barzakh, the place in which people will be after death but before the Judgement Day comes.

So back to the questioned, if Allah Ta'aala give us one minute before we die, what are we going to do? Most likely we will answer that by repented and asked Allah for the Forgiveness (taubatan nasuha).
